Understanding your sports & exercise injury needs
With a broad personal involvement in many sports and forms of exercise, Dr Low draws on his experience to tell you what your injury is, what caused it, how best to heal it, and how to adapt your exercise for a speedy recovery. In his own words:
Getting the right diagnosis
We cannot treat and heal your condition if we do not know its exact nature. Giving us a detailed account of your ache, pain or injury will assist in an accurate understanding of your injury. Key on-site investigations include:
- Diagnostic ultrasound scanning for tendons, ligaments, joints and muscles
- Imaging services such as Xrays, MRIs, and CT scans
- Bone mineral density (BMD) reviews for bone strength evaluation
- CT angiogram scans for athletic heart health
Maintaining your fitness level
Many active people are afraid that they will be told to stop exercising. We will work with you to adapt your exercises to your injury, so you can exercise even as you heal. We want to understand your exercise and sports goals to help you reach your targets and dreams without incurring further injuries.
Preventing recurring & new injuries
Treating your injury or condition is a priority. But helping you reduce the risk of further or repealed injury is very important to us. So we will help you understand why your injury occurred, and help you take steps to prevent this from happening again. This may involve changes in your exercise regime, equipment issues (eg. running shoes), stretching exercises and managing your training/competitions.
